In Colorado

We have made it to Colorado...actually we got here Friday night, but things have been going on, and I haven't had time to post, or more accurately, haven't taken the time to post.

A couple of weeks ago, I sent my secret pal 10 pal her last box...she really liked the things that I had sent to her. If you want to check out her blog, go here and you can see the pictures.

We got to my folks house on Friday evening, just in time to have a snack and go to bed. We had spent most of the day in Denver doing fun and exciting things like getting tires for the big truck and taking showers and then fighting the Friday afternoon traffic through Colorado Springs. Then we had to go to the little town near where our land is to drop the trailer and then we drove the tractor up the mountain...that's 14 miles of dirt roads that lead up to the development that my folks live in. We have land 2 miles outside of town and are just off of the paved part of the road. We came past our land and can't believe how green it is. The moisture up here has been needed and well received by all. The further up the mountain we came, the greener it got. Now our land is a 40 acre plot that has 8 trees on it. Yup, that's right, 8 trees. If I take a picture of our land from the road, because you can't actually see the property lines, you might actually think that we have a nice little patch of trees...nope. Those are just on the other side of the line...don't belong to us....can't use 'em. Makes for a kinds of barren piece of land. But that is okay...you can buy a LOT of trees for the 25 or 30 thousand dollars that a piece of land with trees cost more than our land cost us.

I will have to post again later, probably later today the 25th, when I get my pictures edited, burned to a CD and then uploaded to photobucket so that I can post them to my blog. We have been on vacation at my parents house for the last week and I can't get my mother's internet connection to work on my laptop, so I am posting from her computer and didn't have enough gumption to upload the pictures just yet. I will have some incredible sunset pictures and some gratuitous animal pictures and I will have some fiber porn that I picked up at the Estes Park fiber festival.
